am back

excellent - recommend a cruise any day, especially if you go 'big' like we did and get the 3rd largest cruise liner in the world (Norwegian Epic). Chilly would be in his element - 23 restaurants, and a 24hr buffet

Do you have to get suited up at night .Is it worth upgrading to a balcony room ?

jeez....

well it was 4 nights on the big boat, setting off from rome and ending at barcelona. How we got to rome and how we flew home was nothing to do with the cruise ship. We organised that bit ourselves.

the ship was for normal people, not posh, no need to bring dinner jackets and cravats etc. 3 restaraunts were free for food and basic beverages and you could wear fairly unformal stuff like jeans/shirt (in two of them - the waiter service ones - you were not allowed to go in wearing shorts (and flip flops)).  The other restaurants were paid for, although it was a small set price per head, but we didnt use those.  All alcohol has to be paid for of course wherever you are.   I think you can buy a 'extra' add-on drinks package but dunno how much.

i think the cost was about £400 each person and we had a cabin with a balcony (essential in my opinion).  The cabins in the middle of the ship had no windows obviously so would be cheaper.

the ship was f**king huge - 17 decks.   3 floors totally devoted to entertainment/shops/casinos/bars/restaurants/cafes etc.  Plus the top decks with jacuzzis, pools, water slides etc etc.  Plus another upper two small decks (18 +19) for the posh lot so we couldnt go up there.

1st cruise ever - would certainly do it again.   Saw the new Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria cruise liners.  They were positively feeble in comparison to my boat.

anything else just google!

Very Happy
